Teachers Briefing & Seminars for educators

IAFE Education briefings

The IAFE are committed to enhancing knowledge and awareness of the benefits of air conditioning to the education sector. To these ends we have sponsored a series of seminars for educators, SLT members, engineers and consultants.

With particular emphasis on reducing energy bills, lowering carbon emissions and improving the quality of learning & student achievement, the IAFE hosts sessions regionally and online.

Most non-technical seminars are provided free of charge and special “Trust” visits can also be arranged.

Please see below seminars planned for 2026, confirmed dates and venues can be viewed by checking the  “Calendar” .

SEMINAR A

Funding, Grants & Leasing FOR SCHOOLS AND ACADEMY TRUSTS

These popular seminars, often hosted within Academy Trusts, are aimed at providing Head teachers and Leadership teams with a very basic overview  of the advantages of air conditioning over traditional fossil based heating systems.

A key part of the session is to identify routes that may be open to obtaining grants, discounts, extended warranties or financial  assistance and estimated potential pay back periods.

SEMINAR B

The Environment, Staff Well-being And Improving Pupil Performance

These in-depth seminars and presentations focus on academic and scientific studies supporting the use and benefits of air conditioning. It also attempts to qualify more accurately the significant reduction of CO2 levels  and positive contribution to protecting the environment that air conditioning can deliver.

Part of the seminar focuses directly on studies demonstrating increased pupil performance and improved staff well-being from cooling technology.

Engineers Training Courses

IAFE Technical training courses

The IAFE is committed to enhancing the competence and awareness of air conditioning engineers, consultants and resellers across the UK. Keeping technical service personnel environmentally aware and up to speed with the latest technologies is a core objective of the Institute.

Venues for courses are located across the country and many are offered either free of charge or at cost.

Please see below some examples of the technical training currently available and also check the “Calendar” below for specific locations and dates.

Manufacturer Specific Courses

Leading global manufacturers sponsor special small group sessions for FGAS Level 2 or above technicians. These sessions give valuable tips and advice to help ensure that all installations within the education sector are compliant and engineers are fully committed to the highest standards of workmanship and best practice.

Servicing and Best Practice

The IAFE Code For Servicing (See Guides Section) was published to help ensure consistency, peace of mind and capped pricing for UK schools. These technical courses are aimed at servicing personnel and include instruction in procedure, components and the issuing of relevant documents and certification.
